How to use the ISE Foundation Practice Reading and Writing Exam

The ISE Foundation practice reading and writing exam can be used in a number of different ways:

  • Use it in class to help students develop the reading and writing skills they need to do well on the exam. You might want to split it up and use it across several lessons. You can teach students what they should do to do well, e.g. in the long reading questions 1-5, try looking at the topic sentence and matching this with the titles.
  • Use it as a practice exam to see your students’ progress – are they ready for the exam yet? Make sure you do it under exam conditions so that you can see how they would perform under similar circumstances. Information about the scoring and what this means can be found in Trinity’s Practice exam materials and how to use them file.
  • Use the ISE Foundation practice reading and writing exam as an end-of-term exam so that you can give your students a grade for the term.
