GESE 4 Revision Grid – Free download
Exam time is coming up for many students, and it’s time to revise before the big day! To help with this, we have designed a GESE 4 revision grid that your students can use to go over the main language points of the grade in the context of typical questions from the conversation phase.
In this download you can find a grid with the conversation areas down the side and the language of the grade areas across the top. In each square there is an example question for that conversation area, using the language point. E.g.:

How to use the GESE 4 Revision Grid:
- Go through the first conversation area on the grid with the students, reminding them about the different language points and asking for example answers to the questions which demonstrate this language.
- Ask the students to ask and answer the questions in pairs. The partners give each other feedback on the language they have used – e.g, Did they use the past tense correctly? Did they give an answer with enough information?
- In the space below the questions, in pairs, students can write their own example of a question using the language point.
- Swap pairs and ask and answer the new questions, again giving feedback on the responses.
- Repeat with the next conversation area (you might want to focus on only one or two subject areas per class rather than doing everything in one go).
